Teeth Whitening

Modern dentistry means that a bright and confident smile is now an accessible and affordable luxury for everyone. Tooth whitening is a quick and safe way to refresh and transform your smile – resulting in a healthy and more youthful appearance. Treatment is pain-free and convenient and results can be seen from the first application.

Your dentist will take impressions of your teeth and special trays will be made for you. Your dentist will supply you with a home whitening kit, show you how to use it and give you full instructions. After a 2 or 3 week period, depending on your requirements your dentist will then review your whitening progress. Tooth whitening is safe and suitable for use on the majority of people. It is normally possible to remove stains from most teeth – even those that are considered dead due to root damage.

Teeth with particularly bad staining as a result of tetracycline or fluorosis may not respond to treatment – or may require several doses. Prosthetic devices such as crowns, fillings, dentures and bridges can’t be whitened, but your dentist can offer simple solutions to this. Treatment should be pain-free although you may notice a slight increase in sensitivity of the teeth and gums which should improve within 24 hours of treatment finishing.

Professional tooth whitening is a safe, predictable and non-destructive way to rapidly brighten your smile. So many of our patients tell us that they didn't realise how much of a boost to their self-confidence it would bring until after they had tried professional whitening. We offer a number of solutions to controllably achieve the result you desire to achieve a natural-looking result.

The envisage team has a wealth of experience in providing a number of tooth whitening systems, and we have carried out post-graduate training to ensure we can offer care which puts your health and wellbeing at the core of everything we do. As always, we treat your mouth as we would treat our own and help you bring out the best version of yourself.

Tooth Reshaping

This treatment is often known as contouring of teeth. Tooth reshaping involves careful adjustment to your teeth to create better shapes and sizes to enhance your smile. Tooth reshaping can either be done alone, or in conjunction with porcelain veneers to correct other teeth shapes. Tooth reshaping involves a tooth being contoured or filed into a slightly better shape to make it look better. The tips of your teeth can often be a little out of shape, or one tooth is a little longer than another, and filing the tip slightly, can improve the appearance of your tooth and your smile.

Tooth contouring is commonly used when the upper teeth have been veneered, and you want to improve the appearance of the lower teeth without having to veneer them. Often your lower teeth can be a little bit crooked, and filing the tips of them along the biting edge can give them the illusion of them being straighter.

White Fillings

Our dental team has invested in many hours of post-graduate education to develop the skill and artistic flair needed to create cosmetic white fillings that look and feel fantastic. By choosing these fillings, you can smile, talk, laugh, and eat in complete confidence knowing that your teeth look perfectly natural.

We increasingly find that our clients opt for tooth-coloured ("composite") fillings instead of grey-looking ("amalgam") or gold fillings, as they not only restore the strength of your tooth by adhering to the tooth, but also retain the aesthetics of your smile. Cosmetic fillings can be matched to the shade, translucency and even the texture of your natural teeth, making them almost unnoticeable.

Unlike silver amalgam restorations, white composite restorations stick to the teeth meaning they are often used to repair chipped, broken or decayed teeth (especially at the front of your mouth). Our dental clinicians may sometimes use white restorations for back teeth if there is not too much decay or damage.

Multiple Dental Implants

If you are missing several teeth, depending on where the missing teeth are, your surgeon can either offer multiple implants or offer alternative solutions such as implant-supported bridges. Restoring function due to the loss of multiple teeth is a life changing event. Our dental implant surgeons can provide several advantages using implants over other teeth replacement options. In addition to looking and functioning like natural teeth, options such as implant-supported bridges replace teeth without support from adjacent natural teeth.

In the long term, implants are aesthetic, functional and comfortable. Gums and bone can recede around a normal bridge or partial denture, leaving a visible defect. Resorbed bone beneath bridges or removable partial dentures can lead to a collapsed, unattractive smile. The cement holding bridges in place can wash out, allowing bacteria to decay teeth that anchor the bridge. In addition, removable partial dentures can move around in the mouth and reduce your ability to eat certain foods.

Implant Retained Dentures

An implant-retained denture is a type of over- denture that is supported by and attached to implants in the jaw. A regular denture rests on the gums, and is not supported by implants. The denture clips on to the implant to keep it in place. An implant-retained denture is used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. It is usual that at least 2 implants are needed to support the denture, but that will be decided depending on your particular needs.

Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and Onlays are alternatives to fillings. Fillings start soft and are carved to shape in the mouth. Inlays and onlays are made outside the mouth usually in a dental laboratory and then glued to the tooth in the surgery.

An 'inlay' sits in a hole in the tooth. An 'onlay' sits on the tooth and builds up its shape. Inlays ad onlays can be made in tooth coloured porcelain, gold or material called composite. Different materials are suitable for different parts of the mouth and different parts of the teeth.

Fast Orthodontics & Clear Braces

In a 2007 study, 81% of people said that a smile is the dominant feature of facial appearance. Many of our patients are happy with their teeth, but not the appearance of the smile. To help these patients, we offer a range of fast orthodontic and clear brace systems to help straighten teeth. Our dental teams offer options such as Six Month Smiles, Inman Aligner, QuickStraightTeeth, Invisalign, C-Fast and much more depending on the individual case and your requirements.

Our clear brace dentists will listen to your needs and present you with options and the most appropriate solution based on your specific assessment with your dentist. Prior to any treatment, your oral hygiene and the health has to be at an optimum level. For this reason, we recommend regular hygiene care before and after treatment which can be provided on site by envisage dental.

Our team will sensitively guide and advise you on the range of fast orthodontic and clear brace systems we offer to help you achieve your goal and feel fantastic about the way you look. As always, we are passionate about delivering the highest quality care with attention to detail, in an approachable and unhurried manner.
